Catherine Izard, Ph.D. is a Director of Data Analytics at Opinion Dynamics. Her primary responsibilities include working with the data analytics team providing technical leadership and quality assurance support, and collaborating with team members on ongoing efforts to advance methodological and workflow processes.
Catherine comes to Opinion Dynamics from Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) where she was a member of PG&E’s Strategic Data Science Team. There she served as the technical lead of a variety of advanced analytics projects, developing models (machine learning, optimization, risk assessment, quantitative policy analysis) in Python that leveraged PG&E’s grid and customer/AMI data to support data informed decision making. She holds a dual Ph.D. in Engineering & Public Policy and Civil & Environmental Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and a master’s degrees in Industrial Ecology from the Norwegian University of Science & Technology.
